How to enroll in Austria for the autumn semester of 2023

Advantages of Austrian education: Almost everyone can apply because there are not many specializations with exams. Disadvantage: Document submission is somewhat complicated - you can invest resources in admission but miss the required semester.

We'll guide you on the steps to enroll in the autumn semester of 2023.

Step 1. Prepare Documents - By June 15

You will need:

• Passport
• Educational certificate
• German language proficiency certificate
• Studienplatznachweis certificate

Step 2. Submit Documents to the University - By September 5

Documents are submitted online; you need to register on the university's platform and upload your documents. After this, universities often require you to take an Online Self-Assessment Test on the same platform. The results don't affect your admission but serve as a point for reflection: why you are choosing this university, your expectations from education, and your plans.

Step 3. Reserve Accommodation - The Earlier, the Better

You should do this in advance because the number of spots is limited, and both local and international students apply for them. Starting your search early will make it easier to rent a pleasant room at a reasonable price.

Step 4. Receive an Invitation from the University - Zulassungsbescheid

If all documents are submitted correctly, the university sends an invitation, confirming your admission. Invitations are usually sent to the email you provided during document submission. There are no strict deadlines; some people receive it within a month, while others may get it in two weeks.

Step 5. Arrive in Austria and Register at the University - By September 5

Pay for the first semester of studies - €748 euros. Education is currently free for Ukrainians, but you should keep an eye on this information as admission rules can change at any time.

Step 6. Start Studying on October 1, 2023

Шаг 1. Готовим документы — до 15 июня

Шаг 2. Подаем документы в вуз — до 5 сентября

Документы подаются онлайн, для этого надо зарегистрироваться на платформе университета и загрузить документы. После этого на этой же платформе вузы часто требуют пройти Online Self Assesment Test. Его результаты не влияют на зачисление. Скорее это некоторый пункт для рефлексии: зачем вы поступаете именно в этот вуз, чего ждете от учебы, чем планируете заниматься.

Шаг 3. Бронируем общежитие — чем раньше, тем лучше

Это нужно сделать заранее, так как количество мест ограничено, а претендуют на них и местные студенты, и иностранцы. Естественно чем раньше начать поиск, тем проще снять симпатичную комнату за разумную цену.

Шаг 4. Получаем приглашение из вуза — Zulassungsbescheid

Если все документы поданы в нужной форме, вуз присылает приглашение — подтверждение, что вы зачислены. Чаще всего приглашение присылают на email, который вы указали при подаче документов. Четких сроков здесь нет: кому-то приглашение приходит в течение месяца, кому-то — за 2 недели.

Шаг 5. Приезжаем в Австрию и регистрируемся в вузе — по 5 сентября

Оплачиваем первый семестр учебы — €748 евро. Обучение для украинцев сейчас бесплатное, но эту информацию нужно отслеживать: правила поступления могут измениться в любой момент.

Шаг 6. Начинаем учебу 1 октября 2023 года
